Process & modality
Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to improve problem areas and move towards goals. For this work to be most effective, it is important that you take an active role in the process. Accordingly, sessions are typically scheduled to take place one time per week at the same time and day, if possible. Consistent attendance can lead to more effective treatment.
The time we spend together will look different depending on the goals we are working on. Talking isn't the only way we can achieve change. Art Therapy is another tool I offer. It's a really beneficial way to self-explore and can be an alternative to "talking." Art is another tool for YOU to learn something new about your experiences and issues. And you don't have to draw or be an artist. Art therapy is a non-judgmental practice and use of art supplies that focuses on the process rather than what gets made.
