Kids often express themselves through behavior, play, and creativity before they have the words to explain how they feel. Many of us grew up hearing things like “don’t cry” or “you’re fine,” and now we’re learning emotional skills alongside our kids.
In therapy, I use art, storytelling, and play to help your child express emotions, build coping skills, and feel more confident and understood.
Building trust with your child is important, but caregiver involvement matters too. Depending on your family’s needs, this may include parent check-ins, joining sessions, or brief updates along the way.
You know your child best. I may only see them for 50 minutes each week, so support and practice at home will help the skills we work on truly stick.
